On 27th September we’ll be performing a concert of Flemish music for Christmas, conducted by Stephen Rice, director of the Brabant Ensemble. The main work is Clemens non Papa’s Missa Pastores quidnam vidistis but there will also be festive motets by Gombert, Josquin, Brumel, and de Monte.
One of the dangers of having concerts at Easter and late summer each year is that we run the risk of not looking at music for other seasons. So we hope you’ll forgive us thinking Christmas thoughts just as Autumn starts.
